MFT: Fairy Happy

Hello friends! At any given moment, it’s likely that I’m borrowing some stamp sets from my CFF (craft friend forever) Denise, and she’s usually borrowing something from me. For awhile, my husband was our connection (he worked with Denise), carrying supplies back and forth in what we called The Magic Backpack.  Unfortunately The Magic Backpack is no longer in service, so we have to swap sets during our crafternoon adventures. During our last crafternoon, I claimed a couple of sets to borrow, including the Fairy Happy set from My Favorite Things. It’s fitting, then, that I made this card to celebrate our friendship. (Seriously, our stamp stashes are so intertwined, it would be a real messy divorce.)

(My CFF is the blonde fairy and I’m the red head fairy. Aren’t we adorable?)

Continuing the no-line watercolor obsession I’ve had of late, I stamped the fairies, flowers, and butterflies onto watercolor paper using Distress Ink in antique linen. I also went ahead and stamped the sentiment in VersaFine. I used my favorite watercolors from Sennelier to paint these little darlings.  The wing outlines came out darker than I wanted, but overall, I’m pretty pleased with how the scene turned out. I used the largest wonky stitch rectangle die (also MFT) to trim down the panel and adhered it to a top-folding A2 card base.

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
