Hi friends! Today I have a quick post to share a card I made for the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Sketch challenges are always, well, a challenge for me. I guess I’m just too free spirited for sketches, haha! (If you knew me for any length of time, you’d know that’s totally not true) Anyway, this one was a struggle for me too, but I get happier with this card each time I look at it.
I started by blending some Distress Oxide ink (in Cracked Pistachio and Broken China) on two equally sized strips of white card stock. I put the Cracked Pistachio layer down first because I was really going for the blue in the Broken China. I layered on a stencil with additional Broken China to make a wave pattern. I sprinkled some water droplets on, let them soak for a few seconds, and lifted them up with a paper towel. Then I put foam tape on one end of each strip to pop it up, kinda like a wave. Then I stamped, colored, fussy cut, and adhered the mermaid, whale, and narwhal (from Flora & Fauna’s Mermaid Kisses) onto the scene, along with a sentiment banner.
I hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks so much for stopping by!
This is such a cute card. Your watery background panels are fabulous! And I love that sentiment. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
