Hello friends! Today is my last Feature Friday celebrating Concord & 9th’s third birthday (insert sad panda face here). It’s been a fabulous month and I hope you all have found tons of inspiration from the Where Creativity Meets C9 design team. A big shout out to Angie and Greg for inviting us to the celebration and for their generosity! I am SO grateful for everything! (Nice segue, huh?)
This week we are featuring the Grateful for Everything bundle. This bundle features a fall follow-up to the Hello Lovely floral spray. YES PLEASE! It’s such a beautiful autumn floral spray. This stamp will make you look like a card making superstar! Color it with pencil, markers, watercolors, or just leave it uncolored. It is gorgeous no matter what you do.
For my first card, I grabbed some watercolor pencils and set to work. I decided that I HAD to CASE the card I made for a WCMC9 challenge last year. I stamped the floral spray into the corner of a piece of watercolor paper and embossed with gold powder. I used Derwent watercolor pencils to color. I have actually never used these pencils on a card before. I’ve had them for years and years, but never really knew how to use them. I have a very limited palette, but I think I made them work. And now I’m kinda obsessed with watercolor pencils and am researching a more complete set.
For the stripes and sentiment, I used the shiplap and the “hello” stamps from Shiplap Sentiments. I stamped the “hello” on a separate piece of paper, embossed it with clear powder, and fussy cut it out. I popped it up with foam tape for a little dimension.
For my next card, I used Polychromos pencils on smooth bristol paper. I stamped the floral spray with light gray ink to get the no-line look. Once I was done coloring, I used the coordinating “grateful for you” die to cut the sentiment from the colored panel. I also ran the die through with some craft foam so that I could pop up the sentiment. I kept all the negative pieces in place.
I also used the cross-hatch die on some coordinating mustard yellow cardstock and adhered the cross-hatch pieces onto my panel for a little something extra. I adhered the panel to a piece of scalloped card stock in the same mustard yellow and then adhered the whole thing to my card base.
Thanks so much for joining me today! And thanks again to Angie and Greg for inviting the Where Creativity Meets C9 design team to celebrate with them this month! I had so much fun and hope you all did too! Take care and happy crafting!
I’m grateful for you and your talent! I love your fall projects. I thought the cross hatch pieces were made of thread when I first saw the second card! So cool. I always enjoy reading about your creative process.
