Here’s my take on this palette:
I took one look at that palette and immediately thought of the City Stacks stamp set and those trees. Those trees! So I trimmed down some watercolor paper and stamped the trees three times to create a little forest. I masked the previously stamped trees before stamping the next line, staggering them slightly like wood planks or subway tiles. Then I stamped the skyscrapers in a pale gray ink to appear off in the distance.
I painted the scene with a combination of watercolor pencils and watercolor paints, sticking as close to the inspiration palette as possible. Specifically I used pencils from the Prima Marketing Scenic Route set of pencils, along with Sennelier watercolor paints (but mostly the pencils). I loosely painted in trees between the gaps of the stamps to complete my forest.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on scrap watercolor paper, adhered it to the background with foam tape, and then adhered the panel to my A2 top-folding card base.
That’s all for me today, thanks so much for stopping by! Hop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful cards my talented teammates made, get the details on the challenge, and enter your gorgeous creations! See you there!
