Where Creativity Meets C9 #26: Layers

Hi friends! Welcome to another challenge with Where Creativity Meets C9! This month we are playing with layers!

I still haven’t made friends with layers, but I am going to keep trying! So here is my take on this very challenging challenge: layers of embossing, layers of paper, and layers of bling!

I started by trimming down a piece of dark blue cardstock to 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ (A2). Then, using the Snowflakes Turnabout stamp from Concord and 9th, I stamped the snowflakes four times with Versamark ink. In between each turn, I applied embossing powder and set with a heat tool. I used Brutus Monroe Alabaster (white), WoW pearl, and WoW silver glitter embossing powders. I then blended in some Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink around the edges. It kinda softened the background and almost looks frosty, don’t you think?

Next, I used the Happy Holidays label dies to create a sentiment layer. I used white and aqua cardstock. I wrapped some soft icy blue embroidery floss around the panel, adhering it to the back, and then added the label with foam mounting tape. After adhering the panel to my card base, I glued some clear and silver sequins to add a bling layer.

Thanks for joining me today! Please hop over to the challenge blog to see more inspiration from the whole WCMC9 team and add your own amazing creations! I’m looking forward to seeing your layers…of awesomeness!
